Calling All Surgical Technologists!

Novant Health Rowan Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our Family Care Unit on a full-time night shift. In this role, you’ll support Labor & Delivery and C-section procedures by preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile field, and assisting the surgical team throughout procedures. Surgical Technologists play an essential role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality care for mothers and newborns. • Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments for Labor & Delivery and C-section procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field and assist the surgical team throughout procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and assist with instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Support safe, efficient patient care while collaborating with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D – Operating Room Specialist). For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification please see additional skills required. Online Surgical Tech program credits will not be accepted.
• Experience: Previous Surgical Technologist experience, preferred. 
• Licensure/Certification: Current Surgical Tech Certification (CST, TS-C, NRCST, or SA-C), preferred. Current Surgical Tech Certification - based on state specific regulations (South Carolina Region Only), required. 
• Additional Skills (required): For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification the following additional requirements may apply: recommended for new graduates to obtain certification within 12 months of hire. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time management skills.
