**Job Description:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Radiation Therapist to join our dynamic oncology team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in delivering precise radiation therapy treatments to patients, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety. This position requires advanced knowledge of radiation therapy techniques, patient management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Administer radiation treatments to patients according to prescribed protocols and physician instructions.
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment with precision and adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Monitor patient progress and respond promptly to any adverse reactions or complications.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment procedures, potential side effects, and care plans.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and institutional policies related to radiation safety and patient confidentiality.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior radiation therapists and support staff.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous professional development activities.
Education and Experience
1. Graduation from an AMA approved program in Radiation Therapy Technology or Radiologic Technology is required. An Associate of Science degree in Radiation Therapy Technology is preferred.
2. Registration as a Radiation Therapy Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) is required.
3. Licensure as a Radiation Therapy Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in the state of Maryland is required.
4. CPR certification is required.
5. Three years of clinical practice in Radiation Therapy is required.
