A Day in the Life

The Senior Marketing Operations Manager will lead the design, scaling, and continuous improvement of a major portfolio of interconnected Marketing Operations processes, systems, and programs. This is a senior individual contributor role for a highly experienced operator who can solve complex cross-functional problems, establish durable operating standards, and guide high-impact technical and process decisions. The Senior Marketing Operations Manager will work closely with Demand Generation, Field Marketing, Product Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, and internal systems/data teams to strengthen how marketing programs are planned, built, routed, measured, and optimized. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strategic judgment and can balance immediate business priorities with long-term system health, governance, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap and continuous improvement of a major Marketing Operations portfolio spanning multiple related workstreams, systems, or business processes.
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable lifecycle, routing, scoring, campaign, enrichment, data-governance, reporting, or workflow-automation solutions.
  • Drive complex cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through requirements, design, testing, rollout, adoption, and post-launch improvement.
  • Partner with Demand Generation, Field Marketing, and Product Marketing to improve the operational design of priority campaigns, events, nurture programs, audience strategies, and follow-up motions.
  • Partner with Sales Operations and internal systems/data teams to resolve multi-system CRM, assignment, integration, data, and measurement dependencies.
  • Establish reusable standards, implementation patterns, QA practices, documentation, and governance models that improve consistency and reduce technical or process debt.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for tooling, automation, and AI-assisted workflow improvements that increase capacity, reliability, speed, or quality.
  • Serve as a senior technical and operational advisor to stakeholders and team members, providing guidance, technical review, and informal mentoring without direct people-management responsibility.

Required Experience/Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in Marketing Operations, Demand Generation Operations, Marketing Automation, Sales Operations, or a related B2B SaaS operations role.
  • Deep expertise with marketing automation platforms, Salesforce or comparable CRM systems, and the processes that connect marketing execution to sales follow-up and pipeline creation.
  • Experience designing and scaling complex lifecycle, routing, scoring, campaign, enrichment, data, and automation workflows across multiple systems.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional process or technology initiatives involving Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, and internal systems/data teams.
  • Strong understanding of funnel conversion, campaign taxonomy, attribution inputs, data governance, measurement dependencies, and marketing-to-sales handoffs.
  • Experience developing durable operating standards, technical documentation, QA processes, implementation patterns, and governance practices.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience using Excel, reporting, and BI tools to investigate performance, validate data, and inform operational decisions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, project leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to make sound trade-offs in a complex enterprise environment.
